Adoption grants are based on a wide variety of criteria. Eligibility may be based on:
- Where you live
- Where you are adopting from
- Your religious affiliation
- Characteristics of the child you are adopting
- Your financial need
The amount of an adoption grant will vary, but awards often fall in the $2,000 to $4,000 range.

A Child Waits Foundation
- Offers adoption grant awards up to $5,000.
- Grants awarded to qualified U.S. citizens regardless of marital status, race, religion, or national origin.
The Boatner Family Foundation
- A small foundation which provides grants from $1,000 to $10,000
- Requirement include an agency approval, a financial statement, and a formal application

Both Hands Foundation
- Both Hands Foundation organizes charity projects to raise money for adoption expenses.
- Both Hands works in partnership with Lifesong for Orphans to assist families with fundraising projects, grants, and loans.
- Adoption grants– families adopting from China
- Provides grants and/or low-interest loans to families who qualify by adopting special needs or older children
- Typically $1,000 to $3,000.
- Adoption grants- must have a completed home study
- Adoption grants for families adopting older children, children with special needs, or sibling groups
- Must provide a Christian statement faith
- Must have an approved home study to apply.
Gift of Adoption Fund
- Offers adoption grants from $1,000-$7,500.
- Adoption grant applicants must be U.S. citizens, demonstrate financial need, and have an approved home study by a Hague or COA accredited adoption agency.
- Adoption grants awarded regardless of age, gender, marital status, number of children in the home, race, creed, religion, sexual orientation, or national origin.

HandinHand Christian Adoption
- Offers matching grants and pays funds directly to an adoption agency.
- To qualify, families must have a completed home study and be of Christian faith.

Help Us Adopt
- Offers adoption grant awards up to $15,000 to qualified couples and individuals.
- Eligible to apply once the home study is finalized and are matched with a child
- Adoption grants awarded regardless of race, religion, gender, ethnicity, marital status or sexual orientation.
- Adoption grant award priority goes to applicants without children and those with failed or disrupted first-time adoption placements.

- Two-parent, heterosexual couples, and Christian statement of faith.
Lifesong for Orphans
- Offers matching grant for adoption costs: Awards range from $1,000 – $4,000, with one dollar given for every dollar an applicant raises.
- This agency also has an interest-free loan program up to about $13,000 dollars for qualifying families.
- Statement of faith, demonstrated financial need, and a completed home study are required.
Never Alone Foundation
- HANNAH’S HALO: A grant for families seeking the unique and informed post-placement support services needed by children with adoption and attachment challenges.
- ZOE’S RAINBOW:A grant for those who desire to build their family by adding a child through international adoption.

Show Hope
- Show Hope grants are available to Christian families with a completed home study.
- Grant applications are reviewed by the organization 6 times during the year.
National Adoption Foundation
- Grants range from $500- $2,000 and are awarded quarterly. Grants can be used for any adoption-related expenses.
- The grant program has no exclusions as to race, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation, family characteristics, or income.
- This organization also offers adoption loans.
Reece’s Rainbow
- Offers Family Sponsorship grants to families who adopt a child with Down’s Syndrome or other special needs.
- Sponsorship funds are available after the family has been invited to travel for completion of the adoption.
